Genesis 32 and 33 – Reading Note

There isn’t much today.

  • Jacob called Esau his lord.
  • When Jacob quoted God in32:9, he didn’t quote Him exactly.
  • Just like with Hagar, the maidservants of Jacob’s wives are first called his wives (30:4, 9) and then his maid servants (32:22)
  • Why did Jacob refuse to let the man go unless he blessed him (Genesis 32:26)? God had already blessed him in Genesis 28:13 – 15.
  • How was naming Jacob ‘Israel’ a blessing?
