Exodus 10 & 11 – Reading Note

  • The signs were also so that the Israelites would know that he was the LORD (10: 1, 2)
  • The last plague (and maybe the others)  was intended to show Pharaoh that God made a distinction between Egypt and Israel (11:7,8)
  • Moses was angry with Pharaoh by the time of the last plague, understandably but God was more patient. I should like to be like God and not Moses.
  • God’s plan – killing all the firstborn sons in Egypt – was devastating. The rest had been terrible but this was much worse. Or maybe it wasn’t. The plague on the livestock, the hail and locusts would have destroyed Egypt’s food supply.
