Leviticus 11 – Reading Note

  • God’s instructions regarding clean and unclean things are very interesting. The instructions for handling dead carcasses for instance, do not seem to be a hygiene issue. If a carcass touched a spring or a cistern, they did not become unclean, but anything else (mentioned) did. I don’t suppose it would have been practical to ditch cisterns and springs (seeing as they were currently residing in a desert). Ways that what God was thinking?
  • Why did he give them those rules, anyway? It was clearly a way in which they were to be holy, just like Him. If only I knew what Holy means.
