Deuteronomy 19 – Reading Note

This chapter prescribes measures to prevent the killing of innocent people. Cities were to be marked out where those who killed others unintentionally could run to in order to escape revenge. Also, one witness was no enough to convict anyone of any crime. There had to be more than one witness. If a false witness came forward and it was discovered that he was a false witness, he was to receive the punishment the accused would have received.
